Original Toronto Star caption: What a difference 60 years makes. A view of the Toronto skyline taken from the foot of Yonge St. in 1912 (below) bears little resemblance to the Toronto of today. The sweeping concrete of the Gardiner Expressway now dominates the area where shabby warehouses once stook and land-fill has since moved the harbor hundreds of feet south of its original location. The only building evident in both photographs is the one with a tureet-like structure atop its flat roof. It still stands a King and Yonge St.
