Original Toronto Star caption: Toronto's widest street; Spadina Ave. was created by a family that wanted a view of Lake Ontario. A crescent was built into the road above College St. and when land inside was sold in 1870s great Victorian building standing there today was built by Knox College. College was there for 40 years until it moved to its present larger building on University of Toronto campus. View is north.
