Original Toronto Star caption: Yonge; Wellington and front structures involved. In an endeavor to relieve traffic congestion on Yonge St.; the T. T. C. is going to tear down buildings at five and seven Wellington St. E.; 12 Front St E. and 39 Yonge St. This will give the commission a 60-foot strip of land for loading and parking buses. Above is shown (1) The Front St. buildings to be removed. (2) Number 39 Yonge St. (3) Numbers 5 and 7 Front St.; while (4) is a map. which shows. shaded; the buildings to be removed and the space which will be renderen available. Chief of Police Draper is said to have been pressing for some measure of relief for traffic congestion at the foot of Yonge St. Teperman and Sons have been awarded the contract.
