Original Toronto Star caption: A 126-year-old firetrap; architect Ronald Dick calls Laughlen Lodge on Elm St.; where 70 elderly people live. Dick has designed a new home for the old people; which has been delayed by the 45-foot-height-control bylaw; now before the Ontario Municipal Board. Alderman Arthur Eggleton says the building and development committee is on the spot because of the fire hazard in the home.
