Original Toronto Star caption: The Inca fort of Saesahuaman; near Cuzco; was built with stones weighing up to several hundred tons - and without the use of mortar; wheels; pulleys; or draft animals. Each stone was chiselled and shaped to fit tightly against its neighbor in one of the world's great feats of engineering. But the fort; which is 1;600 feet long; fell without a fight to a mere handful of Spanish conquistadores.
