Original Toronto Star caption: Narrow Inca streets still survive in Cuzco; Peru; old capital of the Indian empire. It ws a city of gold and splendor but it fell easily when the Spanish killed the Inea; the Indians' god-king and left them leaderless. Strangely; Spanish horses were a major weapon. They seemed huge; dreadful beasts to the Incas.
