Original Toronto Star caption: Metro's tribute to the U.S. was a special birthday celebration at Nathan Phillips Square yesterday that featured bands; dancing and drill demonstrations by various units in costumes from colonial days. The thousands that thronged square were impressed particularly by a musket-firing salute from the King's Royal Yorkers Color Guard. Original regiment was based in the United States but remained loyal to George II. Capping it off; 1;000 balloons were released.
