Original Toronto Star caption: A featured work in the exhibition of Group of Seven paintings; which opened at the Art Gallery of Ontario last night; is the portrait of Barker Fairley; by F. H. Varley. It shows Fairley; a long-time friend of the group; as a young man; while the picture at right shows Fairley as he looks today at 83. The current exhibition is a re-creation of the Group of Seven's first collective show--May 7; 1920--which was held on same site.
