Original Toronto Star caption: Science Fiction writer Judith Merrill (left) started the whole festival thing at Rochdale College. She suggested gala opening of library after donating huge collection of her books to it last fall. The opening snowballed into a festival that has such characters as Vancouver's town fool; Joachim Foikis (right) taunting the straight scene; seminars; displays; movies and other happenings.
