Original Toronto Star caption: A standing ovation from 31;700 racing fans greeted the Queen Mother when she arrived at woodbine; with Lieutenant-Governor Earl Rowe; in a landau with Governor-General's Horse Guards as escort. The Queen Mother made her entrance just after the third race; and wanted the remaining races keenly. After the sixth the strolled to the paddock for a close-up look at the Queen's Plate contenders; met owners and their families. But; said host E. P. Taylor; she didn't bet.
