Original Toronto Star caption: Birthday cake is too much for Goodyear. George Brown college students baked one large cake and eight smaller ones to help Goodyear Canada Inc. celebrate its 75th anniversay. It was too much cake, however, so the company took its party to the Bob Rumble Centre for the Deaf. Bob Rumbal (left) wields a knife toward the first slice while Goodyear president Scott Buzby (right) and residents wait fo the results.

Moreland, new United States consul in Toronto, found one of his first duties a pleasant one, cutting the cake at the 49th birthday party of the American Women's Club of Toronto. Mrs. W. F. Bebell, left, president of the club, and Mrs. Moreland, right, gave the consul some help. Party was in ballroom of King Edward.
