Original Toronto Star caption: Charles W. A. Scott and his Canadian - born wife discussing the victory bond they'll buy when the fourth loan campaign begins monday. For six month now, a man whose name once blazed in newspaper headlines this world around - and shared them with the Kingsford-Smith's, the Lindbergh's, the Mollisons, Earchart's and Wiley Post's has been living in Toronto. Anybody with a memory for the late 1920's, early 30's can recall the name of Charles W.A. Scott the big Englishman who used to in his draughty nine days, three hours and 40 minutes. My gosh, main, with one of the new Mosquitoes, I could have done it in a day and a half. According to Scott. Charlie Kingstford-Smith was the greatest flier of them all. He was one my best friends. We really enjoyee our little game of beating each other's time. Afew months after I broke record.
