Original Toronto Star caption: A fireman runs from exploding drums of chemical solvents in the multi-million-dollar fire yesterday at the Ashland Oil Canada plant in York Borough in which one worker was killed and three others probably were. About 100 York and North York firemen braved death for five hours in the searing heat of orange fireballs; topped by a swirling column of blue-black smoke that could be seen in Hamilton.
