Original Toronto Star caption: Up in the air, but still very much in the stage of development and discussion, this DHC-7 plane, a short-takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft, built by de Havilland, flies over Toronto Harbor. The company has run out of funds for further development, and is unable to get more funds for the project from its parent company, Hawker-Siddeley. The government however, wants a STOL system.
