Original Toronto Star caption: A head of steam at Uxbridge. The Uxbridge-Scott Historical Society held its sixth annual Steam Threshing Days at the Quaker Hill Museum Grounds on Saturday and Sunday. Among the features was this model of a 1920 steam-powered tractor built by 66-year-old Earl Dunn of Cameron and his brother. Dunn refills water tank. It took them 2 1/2 years to complete and the materials cost more than $1;000. Other highlights of the show included steam-powered shingle mill; drag saw and threshing machine; pioneer arts and crafts.

Final check: John Crook of Oshawa inspects one of the steam engines he has built. Some of his collection will be on display at the Steam Threshing Days in Uxbridge this weekend. He grew to love steam engines while helping on his father's farm in the 1930s.
