Trout season opened yesterday but in Bowmanville anglers had double reason to celebrate: the annual trout derby was on at Bowmanville Creek; reason enough to line up side-by-side under the Highway 2 bridge. The popular event; sponsored by the Bowmanville Anglers Association; drew fishermen from as far as orth Bay. Many of them were disappointed; all they caught were suckers.
