Cheap; delicious and available. Hubbard: This is the big one; ranging in size from five to 10 pounds and varying in color outside from green to orange or light blue. The flesh is orange and stringfree. If you buy one of these used as a puree. Golden Nuggett: Tiny pumpkin-looking squash with a very hard shell. This is a good one to stuff with meat and bake. Mediterranean: Good baker with a stringy flesh; looks like a giant butternut squash. [Incomplete]

Stores stopped selling candy some years ago when firm's key candy maker retired after 45 years of service. An adequate replacement was not found and now, says Boukydis, it's getting tough to find pastry cooks. The supermarkets are stealing what few there are left.
