Original Toronto Star caption: Damaged parcels that had contained books are sometimes wrapped in plastic by the post office. The booksellers' association in western Canada says 90 percent of parcels from eastern publishers are chewed up. A Don Mills publisher says shipments are sorted on a conveyor belt that frequently jams and shatters parcels.
