Original Toronto Star caption: All's quiet at the tent city on the site of the old Mercer reformatory for women yesterday afternoon. But last night; after Parkdale residents voted to ask for the removal of the tents; some of the transients camped at Mercer patrolled the grounds with walking sticks; refusing to allow no one but travelling youth to enter. The tent city dwellers have invited 5;000 are residents to a picnic.
