Original Toronto Star caption: Mystery of Grave still unsolved. Despite research; workmen on new Commerce Court today were unable ot locate the more than 150-year-old grave of Stella Vanzant they had expected to find at the corner of Melinda and Jordan Sts. Vanzant; a Briitish spy and banished Yankee traitor was reputed to have sold his property in Muddy York in 1814 except for the 4-by-6-foot plotwhere his little daughter was buried. Very Rev. Walter Gilling; dean of St. James Cathedral; said the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce had done all it could to locate the grave.
