Original Toronto Star caption: Housecleaning, Alderman Joe Piccininni has been elected to City Council's executive committee - and that means he has to change offices. So some of the knickknacks - including the shoes set in concrete - he's accumulated in 20 years at City Hall will have to go and he'll keep others only if there's room. It's all part of the game of musical offices that's played after every election.

Running a railroad, even if it's government-owned, means behaving like a business. Jean Cormier, vice-president of public relations for Canadian National, says many people don't understand that. Cormier said that because of its government association, many people view the railway as inefficient, bureaucratic, wasteful. CN is out to change that, although it has many problems because it still is an Ottawa-operated and deficit-plagued entity.
