Original Toronto Star caption: Riding in state, Ontario Lieutenant-Governor and Mrs. Earl Rowe weren't expecting confusion to mar their trip today to Queen's Park for opening of the Legislature. Metro police had to rescue the lieutenant-governor from a cabbicade of more than 700 taxis blocking his route to the Parliament buildings. The independent Cab Owner's Guild had deliberately timed the demonstration to gain attention at Queen's Park. They drove around Queen's Park.
