Original Toronto Star caption: Marked by tragedy; co-pilot Dick Overgaard of New Mexico stands by damaged raft that buckled during experimental run in Niagara River rapids; throwing 27 passengers and two crewmen into surging water. Three persons died and 18 were injured when the 35-foot raft was capsized by a huge wave. The owner of the rafting operation said attempts to ride the white water would be abandoned.
