Original Toronto Star caption: Ducks and Geese Flock to Bronte for a Banquet. The hardy ducks and Canada geese who spend the winter on icy Lake Ontario swarmed to the Bronte Beach Park waterfront for a handout yesterday; and hundreds of persons had taken advantage of the sunny day to go down to feed the birds. Earlier in the day; members of the Oakville Rod and Gun Club; the Oakville Humane Society and the Ontario Federation of Naturalists had tried unsuccessfully to capture two injured Canadian geese; they had smelt nets and a seine-and 200 pounds of corn-but the fowl just ate all they wanted and then eluded the waiting nets.
