Original Toronto Star caption: The mail queues start: Hundreds of downtown office workers lined up at the Postal Delivery building on Bay St. at Lakeshore Blvd; to pick up company mail today as the first postal strike in 41 years stopped mail delivery in most of Metro. Hydro and gas company officials said customers would not be penalized for delays in paying bills and will not lost discounts for prompt payment. It will be a costly; time-wasting ordeal for most companies; but it could be a bonanza for cartage firms; messenger services; telephone systems; express & taxi companies.
