Original Toronto Star caption: Yonge St. looking north from Gould is no longer a stretch of bumper-to-bumper traffic but a pedestrian-tempting garden of flowers; trees; outdoor tables and people crossing any place now that the mall is open. The mile-long stretch from King St. to Gerrard will be a mall until Sept. 12. They're still working on setting out flowerboxes. Alderman Bill Archer; the co-ordinator; doesn't think cafes will open today.
